The sledge dog programme for sportively active beginners or people who have already gained experience with sledge dogs. With this programme you will stay at our Sledge Dog Log Cabin in Äkäskero, accommodated in double and/or shared rooms with shared shower / toilet / sauna and lounge.
The day after your arrival you will already be on tour. The distances will be slightly longer than in the Wilderness Programme and can be up to 70 kilometers. In bad weather this distance may take up to 9 hours to complete. Especially the longest stage cannot be shortened, and can therefore be very demanding. Some stages are, in any case, more demanding than others. The sledge carries a heavier load than on the Wilderness Tour, making it more difficult to steer and control.
The accommodation during the tour is, as on the Wilderness Trour, in our log cabins. The last day will be spent in Äkäskero or you can participate in various activities (not included in the price).

Services includde: Transfer from / to the airport at Kittilä, accommodation according to programme, meals (breakfast, snack / lunch / main meal in the evening), Tour catering, equipment for extreme cold weather (jacket, pants, shoes, gloves), sauna, 1 sledge team with 4 to 6 dogs per participant, German and / or English speaking guide. For the nights in the wilderness lodges, you will be provided with an inner sleeping bag as all cabins are equipped with bed linen.
Not included: drinks, activities on your free day, taxi fares for journeys to Äkäslompolo or Muonio.
Programs: Wed. – Wed Sart of the tour with overnight stay in wilderness cabins on Thursday already. Return to Äkaskero on Monday. Tuesday without program. (activitiesoffered can be booked and paid for locally) Wednesday departure. Rooms have to be cleard by 11.00
